How do you recycle a stopper?

Nomacorc polyethylene stoppers are made of a single plastic material that is fully recyclable via normal recycling channels together with many other materials, therefore they are easily recycled and reused for other purposes.

Conversely, technical and microagglomerated stoppers are made of wood powder (cork) and synthetic glue and therefore they are classified as non-recyclables, adding to the amount of waste thrown out into the old and dangerous open-air landfills.

As their biodegradation time is higher than standard, even single-piece cork stoppers should be recycled as wood through special collection sites or sadly thrown out as non-recyclable, instead of compost.
